An idea for an as yet untitled and unrealized performance: distribute a photocopy of each page of Marcel Proust’s “A la Recherche du Temps Perdu” (in English translation – about 2,400 pp. total) to a group of participants. At an appointed time, all participants read their page (one reader per page) aloud simultaneously (in a fairly low voice). This would take place ideally at twilight in a park or cemetery.
