Photems (2006)

The series of “Photems” (a term borrowed from Robert Rauschenberg) reinvigorated my interest in photography, as the structure of the pieces added a semi-cinematic narrative and infused the images with movement. These pieces also have the important element of silence and omission: what happened between the frames?

They were originally exhibited with work by the excellent Steven Barich at 21 Grand, Oakland, California in 2006. These were all mounted on foamcore with wooden supports to avoid being framed or behind glass.
